Overview

The Violence and Abuse: Empowering the Caregiver Symposium (Improving the Care of Domestic Violence Victims) is an opportunity for providers and staff to learn and improve knowledge and competencies in caring for DV victims. The DPH requires training and education on the subject for healthcare providers including “the common physiological and psychological symptoms of domestic violence… and the physiological and psychological effects of domestic violence….on victims.” We have speakers from legal, social work, psychology, trauma surgery, the GSN and critical care to educate and empower caregivers with the knowledge to care for victims in a competent and empathetic manner.
