Overview

It is expected that healthcare providers taking a PALS course come to class already proficient in BLS skills.

This course consists of eLearning PALS Heart Code and a 7-hour in-person simulation lab.
The American Heart Association PALS course is designed for medical providers such as physicians, nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and other professionals whose daily occupation requires them to either direct or participate in the resuscitation of a pediatric patient, whether in or out of hospital. The University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School is authorized as a Training Center for the Pediatric Advanced Life Support Program by the American Heart Association (AHA).

AHA courses at iCELS combine state of the art simulation lab facilities with the latest e-learning software for resuscitation training: Heart Code PALS, brings the classroom to your personal computer. Self directed learning allows for adequate preparation of PALS clinical pathways while computerized simulations allow for deliberate practice of cardiac arrest and peri arrest cases.

Course Location:

UMass Chan Medical School
Albert Sherman Building
