Overview
The Society for Airway Management (SAM) is comprised of a multidisciplinary group of health care providers from Anesthesiology, Emergency Medicine, Otolaryngology, Critical Care, and Pulmonology, as well as CRNAs, AAs, NPs, Pas, paramedics, and nurses. The SAM 24th Annual Scientific Meeting and Workshop has been developed to feature international experts in the various fields of medicine dealing with airway management. Many aspects of difficult airway management, in a variety of clinical settings, will be highlighted. This course will consist of plenary presentations, small group round table discussions, hands-on workshops, and an audience response system.   The theme of this year’s meeting is:   From research to results: applying the latest airway knowledge to clinical practice.  

Accreditation

Accreditation Statement: This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the essential areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint providership of the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School and the Society for Airway Management. The University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Designation Statement:
The University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School designates this live activity for a maximum of 20.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM. Participants should claim only credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nursing Accreditation: This offering meets the requirements for up to 24.6 contact hours, as specified by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing (244-CMR 5.04).

Physician Assistants: AAPA accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society. Cancellation Policy: If you cancel your registration before August 16, 2024, your fee is refundable less a $50 processing charge. After that date, no refunds will be given for any reason – including weather and other emergencies. Substitutions are always acceptable with prior notification.

Deadline: Pre-registration will be closed when space is full, so register early. Please note that on-site registration will be assessed an additional $50 to the published registration fee.

Weather Emergency Policy: While the probability of delay or cancellation of the conference is highly unlikely, we recognize that we are subject to the vagaries of weather. If a weather emergency does occur, and you are in doubt as to whether the course will be held or not, call 508-856-1671 after 6:00 pm on September 18, 2024.

The Office of Continuing Medical Education reserves the right to cancel a program at any time caused by circumstances not under its control including COVID outbreaks. Persons registered in a canceled program will be notified by email, using the email address provided during registration. Registration fees will be refunded for that program if canceled by the Office of Continuing Medical Education.
