Advanced Trauma Life Support® (ATLS®), is a continuing medical education program developed by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma, designed to teach a standardized, concise approach to the care of the trauma patient in the "golden hour" - the period following traumatic injury during which there is the highest likelihood of death.

Providers who are in a position to provide the first hours of emergency care to trauma victims have the greatest opportunity to impact outcomes.

The course utilizes didactic lectures and practical skill stations in order to effectively teach the principles of rapid, effective assessment and stabilization.

ATLS Initial/Provider is a 2 day course. This course includes mATLS®—the newest addition to the ATLS program. It comprises of a pre-test & online modules designed to replace the interactive discussion component of the traditional ATLS course so that learners may complete it at their own pace.

The content in the modules are for informational purposes only, and does not provide credit.

Day 1:  Interactive review/discussion of the online course module materials. (in-person)

Day 2:  Complete the hands-on skills portion of the course and testing. (in-person)

For questions about the course content, please contact the ATLS office at [email protected]
