Overview

This complimentary educational activity is designed for the attendees to leave the program with enhanced knowledge of pain management and improved comfort in managing patient with complex pain needs. There will be a variety of speakers from Critical Care, Anesthesiology, Trauma Surgery, Palliative Medicine as well as the Director of the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Office, who will be discussing the unconscious bias providers may encounter when treating patients from a diverse background. 

Estimated Time to Complete Educational Activity: 4 Hours

Physicians must study the enduring activity and are expected to view every segment to successfully complete the activity and earn CME credit. Learners must complete a post-test and achieve a score of 80% or higher to receive a certificate.

Method of Physician Participation Utilized in Learning Process
There are no fees for participating and receiving CME credit for this activity. During the period April 8, 2024 through April 8, 2027, participants must 1) read the learning objectives and faculty disclosures; 2) study the educational activity, and are expected to view the activity, totaling 4 hours, to successfully complete the activity and earn CME credit; 3) register and complete the post-test and evaluation form; 4) score 80% on the post-test; and 5) print out CME certificate.

 


Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:


  1. Demonstrate an increase in knowledge related to opioid choice at the end of life.
  2. Gain knowledge/competency on opioid rotations.
  3. Demonstrate an increase in knowledge regarding regional anesthesia techniques for surgical and post-operative pain management.

Accreditation

UMass Chan Medical School is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
